Job summary

McLean County District Unit District No. 5 is seeking a Paraprofessional – Special Education in Normal, Illinois. The position requires working closely with students with learning disabilities in a general education environment, providing support for their educational needs.

Responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, supervising students, and assisting in maintaining a positive classroom environment. Compensation includes fully Board-paid medical, dental, and vision. Starting salary ranges from $19.00 to $21.85 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a registered license with the Regional Office of Education #17 at the time of hire.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators and the general public.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays as needed.
• Grade homework and tests, and compute results using electronic marking devices.
