Job summary

The Home Depot in New York, NY is seeking a Software Engineer II to independently develop and assist in design of customer- and associate-facing software. You will join a dynamic team, deploy production applications, and contribute to configuration, security, resilience, and monitoring across projects.

You will collaborate in agile processes, write code and scripts to automate infrastructure and tests, and create meaningful dashboards and alerting to address issues proactively.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in writing SQL queries against a relational database
• Experience in version control systems
• Experience in front end technology such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript/Typescript frameworks
• Experience in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java)
• Experience in Relational or NoSQL database technology
• Experience in cloud computing techniques
• Experience in CI/CD tools
• Experience in microservice-based architecture
• Exposure to security frameworks for user and services authorization and authentication
• Exposure to creating and executing unit, functional, destructive and performance tests

Responsibilities

• 60% Delivery and Execution - Collaborates with product team members to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions; Documents, reviews and ensures quality and change control standards; Ensures user stories are developer-ready, easy to understand, and testable; Writes code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring, and test cases; Configures large projects using approved methodology; Creates dashboards, logging, alerts to proactively address issues.
