Job summary

Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency in Detroit, MI invites an Internship in Social Work focusing on nonprofit data management and HMIS support. You will work with the Out Wayne CoCHomeless Management Information System (HMIS) team and SHHS staff to ensure accurate, timely client data and program compliance.

Responsibilities include running data quality reports, supporting Data Maintenance Plans, identifying training needs, developing workflows, onboarding new HMIS End Users, and

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Passionate about local community work and advocacy efforts.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective processes by employing critical thinking to relate tasks as a way to maximize efficiency through to completion.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and basic data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Assist the HMIS team with running data quality reports to support quarterly data clean ups.
• Provide support to programs in the implementation of their Data Maintenance Plans.
• Identify HMIS data training needs.
• Support the HMIS team in conducting auditing and monitoring program compliance.
• Develop workflows and reference guides.
• Assist with onboarding of new HMIS End Users.
• Assist with special projects related to HMIS data clean up.
• Other duties as assigned.
