Job summary

The State of Alaska is seeking a Social Services Associate for the Kotzebue Juvenile Probation office to provide a full range of administrative and support services, including limited intake, investigation and field duties. Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to build rapport with youth, families, victims and partners; ability to maintain professional relationships and cultural sensitivity.
• Proficiency with computers, software applications, databases and automated systems used for case management.
• Ability to stay calm and effective in high-stress situations, tight deadlines, and emergencies.
• Clear, concise written communication for reports, case notes and correspondence.
• Teamwork and collaboration to achieve goals with multidisciplinary staff and external partners.
• One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in explaining and applying guidelines, policies, or services.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Kotzebue Juvenile Probation office with administrative duties and limited intake, investigation and field services.
• Maintain and organize case files and Juvenile Offender Management Information System records to meet compliance requirements.
• Manage office supplies, timesheets, travel bookings and other duties as assigned.
