Job summary

SOUTH DADE NURSING & REHABILITATION CENTER in Miami, FL seeks a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents with speech and language disorders in a skilled nursing setting.

You will develop treatment plans, implement evidence-based therapy, supervise CFYs per ASHA guidelines, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes. Florida licensure and CPR certification are required, and adherence to standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
• Active Florida professional license.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents/patients referred by physicians and develops treatment goals for the Speech therapy program.
• Provides therapy per physician orders and adjusts plans as needed based on patient response.
• Communicates with physicians; observes, records, and reports changes in patient condition.
• Instructs and supervises residents, patients, and family/caregivers on speech therapy procedures.
• Participates in staff development activities and in-service education programs.
• Supervises CFYs as per ASHA guidelines.
• Adheres to standards of care and ethical policies governing speech therapy.
• Meets productivity and utilization expectations and completes timely clinical documentation.
