Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• One or more years of hospital coding, revenue cycle operations, coding analytics, or charge capture experience.
• CCS certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review Epic Simple Visit Coding outpatient encounters and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS codes per guidelines and payer requirements.
• Ensure coded data reflects services rendered for compliant billing.
• Apply medical necessity requirements, LCDs, NCDs, payer policies in code assignment.
• Identify documentation deficiencies and participate in coding audits and quality reviews.
• Communicate with physicians and departments to resolve coding questions and support reimbursement.
• Maintain knowledge of coding regulations and payer policies while engaging in ongoing training and testing.
