Job summary

Wealthsimple is seeking an Operations Associate to join the Securities Lending Operations team. You will help manage daily lending activity, settlements, and counterparty relationships while supporting compliance and high-stakes trading operations.

You’ll collaborate with trading, product, engineering, and other teams to ensure accurate loan flow and timely settlements, with a focus on efficiency and risk management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience at a broker-dealer, bank, capital markets firm, or pension fund.
• Strong finance/accounting background with solid business judgment and deadline-driven performance.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including formulas and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily securities lending processes with the Securities Lending Operations team.
• Process returns from counterparties and support loan recall and settlement.
• Ensure timely loan and return settlement and resolve related issues.
• Collaborate with traders, product managers, engineering, and other operations teams to ensure smooth trade flow.
• Communicate with counterparties via email or calls to execute loans and recalls; resolve discrepancies.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions and perform daily/monthly reconciliations.
