Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Knowledge of core academic subject
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• One year student teaching or approved internship

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum requirements and accommodations for individual differences.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials suitable for diverse learners as per TEA guidelines.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instruction.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine goals and methods per district requirements.
• Plan and supervise instructional aides and volunteers.
