Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a Secondary Special Education Long Term Substitute at Timnath Middle/High School. The assignment covers a leave of absence with 100% commitment, starting November 11, 2026 and ending around December 18, 2026, for ILS program students.

Candidates must hold a Colorado teaching license and complete CPI training within 3 months of hire. The role emphasizes collaboration, planning, and documentation of student progress within district and state standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure required.
• Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Experience with students with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, formats, and IEP goals.
• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings across curricula.
• Organize student and paraprofessional schedules and assist in master schedule development.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and create a supportive instructional environment.
• Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adapt supports as needed.
• Communicate student progress with families and colleagues.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and outside agencies to promote success.
• Attend department, team, and district meetings and conferences.
