Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• AED certificate for Physical Education teachers.
• One year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect district curriculum and show written prep evidence.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and tech matching student needs.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP requirements.
• Coordinate with staff to set instructional goals and methods per district rules.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal methods.
• Be a positive role model; supervise extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage behavior.
• Maintain reports and records as required and communicate with parents/community.
• Participate in staff development and comply with policies; attend meetings.
