Qualifications

• Knowledge of subjects assigned.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
• Present the subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Cooperate with staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers, if any.
• Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
• Assist in selecting instructional books, equipment, and materials.
• Assist students in analyzing and improving study habits.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, or a foreign equivalent degree

Valid Texas Educator certificate in assigned subject(s) for secondary grades, or statement of eligibility from an approved ACP.
