Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a School Psychologist (Long-Term Substitute) to provide psychological services to students ages pre-school through 22 in public, private, and parochial schools in Boston. Responsibilities include evaluations, IEP participation, and collaborative planning across the district’s Psychological Services team.

The role requires MA licensure as a School Psychologist, experience with standardized instruments, and ability to produce English-language reports.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a School Psychologist.
• Competent with standardized instruments and timely evaluations.
• Ability to write comprehensive reports in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely psychological and educational evaluations for students.
• Participate in IEP meetings to develop comprehensive educational plans.
• Offer consultation to teachers and other professionals to support student potential.
• Conduct classroom screenings to guide educational strategies.
• Provide prevention and counseling services as needed, individually or in groups.
• Participate in crisis intervention as part of the response team.
• Collaborate with the Office of Special Education and Student Services and school staff.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Assistant Director of Psychological Services.
