Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support K-8 students across two Baton Rouge area schools in a full-time, contract role. The position runs from mid-August through the school year, providing essential on-site OT services to help students thrive in classroom and daily life.

The OT will work closely with teachers, families, and staff, perform evaluations, contribute to IEPs, and adapt materials for diverse learners while fostering a welcoming school community.

Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapy license in Louisiana.
• Experience serving school-aged children, especially across the K-8 range.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to travel between two local school sites as needed.
• Knowledge of developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Passion for creating inclusive, accessible learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Conducting evaluations and delivering evidence-based OT services
• Collaborating closely with teachers, staff, and families to address students needs
• Tracking progress, maintaining organized documentation, and contributing to IEP meetings
• Adapting equipment, materials, and techniques to meet diverse student abilities
• Offering guidance and education to staff and caregivers
• Ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all students
