Job summary

Perris Elementary School District is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to support health services across six K-6 elementary schools and two K-8 schools in Perris, California. The hours are 7:15 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with a salary of $300 per day.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, the nurse will conduct mandated screenings, monitor medication administration, participate in IEP-related health assessments, ensure immunization compliance, provide health

Qualifications

California Health Services School Nurse credential or ability to obtain.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certificate preferred.
CPR certification and health-related training.

Responsibilities

Conduct mandated health screenings (vision, hearing) and complete related annual reports.
Monitor safe administration of medication for students with physician orders.
Assist in identification/evaluation for special education and participate in IEP meetings.
Monitor immunization requirements and assist staff/parents with compliance.
Provide counseling and referrals for health-related issues to families and staff.
Serve as health education consultant to teachers and parents.
Support district health curriculum and preventive health education activities.
Supervise health aides and provide DIS to special education students as needed.
Consult with physicians on SPHCS and other health service provisions.
