Job summary

Seneca High School in Illinois is seeking a School Counselor for its Student Services Department. A valid Illinois professional educator license with a School Counselor or Guidance endorsement is preferred, with a Master’s Degree in Counseling.

Additional Short-Term Approval Certifications may apply and will be considered. Guidance Counselors participate in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and may have 10 additional contract days per year.

Qualifications

• Candidates may hold a valid Illinois professional educator license with a School Counselor or Guidance endorsement.
• Master’s Degree in Counseling is preferred or required.
• Additional Short-Term Approval Certifications may apply review per ISBE guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance counseling within the Student Services Department.
• Perform extra duties such as athletic or club sponsorship as required.
• Co-curricular sponsorships to be discussed with final candidate and aligned with the bargaining agreement.
