Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia seeks a qualified school counselor to support students at an assigned middle or high school. You will provide individual and group counseling, help with postsecondary planning, and address issues affecting academic achievement and personal development.

You will collaborate with families, teachers, and community partners to implement comprehensive guidance programs, with emphasis on at-risk students and dropout prevention. Bilingual or ASL skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in school counseling from an accredited program.
  • PA school counselor certification or eligibility required.
  • Experience with bilingual or sign language counseling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general school counseling and guidance services including individual and group counseling.
  • Provides counseling to support students' academic, personal, social and career development.
  • Acts as liaison with families and community agencies for student support and crisis prevention/intervention.
