Orange Elementary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long Term Substitute School Counselor to support students, families, and staff during the absence of the regular school counselor. The role focuses on student well-being, promoting academic and social-emotional development, and fostering a positive school climate.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field is required.
Valid state certification or licensure as a school counselor is required.
Experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional issues.
Collaborate with teachers to identify students needing additional support.
Develop and implement counseling programs and workshops to promote social skills and emotional awareness.
Maintain confidential records of student interactions and progress.
Communicate with parents/guardians about student needs and resources.
