Job summary

Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based services four days per week. The role supports students with disabilities through IEP-driven direct and consultative services in push-in and pull-out settings.

Responsibilities include evaluating motor and sensory skills, developing participation-focused recommendations, and collaborating with educators and families. Strong knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes preferred.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Degree in OT from an accredited program (BS, MS, or DPT).
• Experience with pediatric populations or school-based settings preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, special education regulations, and IEP development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct OT services to students per their IEPs using push-in and pull-out models.
• Evaluate students' fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, and functional skills and conduct evaluations as needed.
• Develop recommendations to support participation, independence, and access to education.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families on interventions and accommodations.
• Participate in IEP Team meetings and contribute to goals and service recommendations.
• Maintain documentation and progress reports in line with SPED regulations.
• Consult with staff on sensory needs, fine motor skills, and environmental modifications.
