Job summary

Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month clinical track assistant professor in large animal emergency surgery. The successful candidate will lead after-hours emergency service and teach residents, interns, and DVM students.

Responsibilities include clinical service in the equine and food animal services, teaching, and collaborative research with other faculty. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• ACVS‑LA or ECVS board certification or completion of ACVS/ECVS residency.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and Alabama licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Teach and provide clinical service in large animal emergency surgery.
• Provide after-hours emergency clinical service (approx. 30 weeks/year) with daytime service in equine or food animal hospitals possible.
• Mentor residents, interns, and DVM students; participate in teaching and scholarly activity; collaborate with other faculty.
