Job summary

Newport Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care using the full nursing process. The role involves coordinating with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes and compassionate service in a busy clinical setting.

The RN will administer medications, monitor patient status, educate families, and participate in emergency response while adhering to safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Tennessee (or compact state)
• BCLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS are preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects
• Document findings and care activities in the medical record
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards
• Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions as needed
