Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Radiology Technologist for St. Charles Hospital to perform diagnostic imaging under physician supervision. You will ensure patient safety, prepare and position patients, operate imaging equipment and document procedures in EPIC/EHR and PACS.

The role requires ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology, state licensure where applicable, and a commitment to compassionate patient care within a faith-based health system. Training in ACS policies and safety is provided.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology from ARRT-accredited program (preferred).
• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• State licensure (preferred, if state allows).
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire for certain Mercy locations; preferred prior to independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient clinical history and lab data for interpretation by licensed practitioner.
• Positions and immobilizes patient to optimize imaging of the target area.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment.
• Verifies informed consent and completes pre/post procedure documentation.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and radiography procedures; maintains aseptic technique.
• Performs timeout as required by policy.
• Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed.
• Maintains documentation and supports patient safety throughout procedures.
