Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Engineer in Kentucky for an on-site permanent role with a leading automotive manufacturer. You will drive quality across manufacturing, lead RCAs, support APQP, and mentor inspection staff while collaborating with engineering and production to reduce defects.

The position emphasizes strong core tool knowledge, face-to-face supplier/customer interactions, and adherence to rigorous automotive quality standards in a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Automotive Quality Engineering experience.
• Experience within automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and other Automotive Core Tools.
• Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support customer and supplier quality activities throughout the manufacturing process.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
• Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Automotive Core Tools documentation.
• Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Perform mechanical inspections utilizing CMMs, optical comparators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Conduct supplier audits and support customer scorecards.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects.
• Support new product launches and APQP activities.
• Help mentor Quality Inspectors and Technicians while serving a technical resource across the plant.
