Job summary

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services seeks a detail-oriented professional with strong written and verbal communication skills to support healthcare partners across the state in public health preparedness.

You will assist with activities that help prepare healthcare and public health partners for disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and other threats, supporting DHSS staff with the PHEP grant and engaging with stakeholders in preparedness planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health or related field and 3+ years relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of public health or emergency management experience preferred; contract development and monitoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PHEP coordinator with planning and technical assistance tasks to local public health agencies and PHEP contractors.
• Coordinate state-wide planning relative to public health system preparedness including state and regional public health emergency response plans.
• Track data for performance measures and all requirements of the federal grant funding system.
• Help compile the annual grant application including budget and work plan, responses to inquiries.
• Aid in establishing routine meetings between DHSS and partners to strengthen communication and partnerships.
