Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Physical Therapist I to autonomously examine, evaluate, diagnose, plan, intervene and discharge patients referred to physical therapy, helping them regain function.

You will collaborate with patients, families, and the care team, supervise assistants and students, maintain records, participate in committees, and ensure compliance with licensing and billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Current Physical Therapist license is required, BLS certification required.
• 0–1 year related work experience required.
• Massachusetts license must be obtained within 3–6 months of hire.
• Must be able to work under supervision and have notes co-signed until licensure.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and determine appropriateness of referral and plan of care.
• Discuss findings with patient and establish plan of care with the care team.
• Implement the plan of care using therapeutic procedures and teaching interventions.
• Review the plan of care and patient progress to ensure goals are met.
• Re-evaluate patient status and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Discharge planning and ongoing documentation and record keeping.
• Supervise PTs, assistants, and students; participate in teaching and in-services.
