Job summary

The Blackstone Group L.P. is seeking an Associate to support the Private Equity group within Portfolio Management - Valuations and Analytics. The core focus is to prepare, evaluate, analyze, and summarize portfolio valuation results, plus handle ad hoc analyses for monitoring and reporting.

The role requires 3+ years of valuation experience, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and knowledge of ASC 820. CFA/CPA is a plus. Location: New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in valuations, transaction services, a private equity fund, consulting, or other analytical roles.
• Thorough understanding of ASC 820 and corresponding valuation guidance.
• Familiarity with a wide range of valuation approaches (e.g. Income, Market, Yield Analysis, OPM, Contingent Claims, PWERM, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, and ability to interact with deal professionals and portfolio representatives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare valuation models reviews, presentations for leaders, and ad-hoc deliverables.
• Update valuation templates each quarter, including DCF, PM, and other models.
• Apply valuation methodologies per policy and external guidance.
• Drive onboarding for new portfolio investments and ensure data collection procedures.
• Respond to auditor inquiries and coordinate reviews with third-party firms.
• Improve valuations and reporting processes, procedures, and use of technology.
• Create and develop presentation materials to communicate results within the Private Equity group and wider Blackstone.
• Present valuation results to internal committees, auditors, and limited partners.
• Collaborate with Private Equity Management Reporting for inputs on planning deliverables.
• Maintain relationships with deal professionals and operations teams.
