Job summary

Community and Family Resources in Iowa City is seeking a Prevention Supervisor to oversee prevention operations across Eastern and Central Iowa. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, and delivering prevention services under approved grants.

You will develop policies, secure funding, and maintain partnerships with communities, task forces, and funders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health or related field, or a Bachelor's with 3+ years experience.
• Two years relevant work experience preferred for Master's degree, or three years with Bachelor's.
• Certified Prevention Specialist or ability to obtain within 18 months from date of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee prevention operations in Eastern and Central Iowa.
• Maintain public relations between the agency prevention department and community resources.
• Provide support, consultation, reinforcement and coordination to area communities and task forces.
• Deliver Prevention Services to clients.
• Coordinate with Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and prevention specialists to develop new programming.
• Supervise Eastern and Central region Prevention Staff, including training and performance management.
• Prepare prevention reports for Iowas Department of Health and Human Services and funders.
• Assist in securing additional funding.
• Monitor prevention budget and advise Controller of fiscal needs.
• Develop and write policies and procedures for the Prevention Department.
