Auburn University’s Harris Early Learning Center in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic preschool teacher for a nurturing, accredited setting serving over 200 children from six weeks to five years old.

You will plan, implement, and assess daily activities, collaborate with colleagues, and engage families while advancing your credentials through university partnerships and certificate programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days required.
• Progress toward a CDA-Child Development Associate is desired.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements developmentally appropriate lesson plans for preschool students in accordance with NAEYC standards.
• Develops relationships with students and manages classroom behavior.
• Provides culturally responsive teaching and communicates with families; uses Procare for documentation.
• Maintains professionalism in punctuality, attendance, communication, and appearance.
• Completes 25 hours of professional development related to early childhood education.
