Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the direction of a Physical Therapist. You will help restore or improve mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion for patients recovering from disease or injury.

Responsibilities include implementing the treatment plan, selecting appropriate activities, documenting sessions, educating patients and families, and coordinating discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Licensure as PTA and Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire (or equivalent).
• Effective communication and teamwork with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide care under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Implement the treatment plan and progress patient toward goals.
• Select appropriate activities and revise plan with PT.
• Provide patient/family education and discharge instructions.
• Document each treatment session per protocol and complete required forms.
