Job summary

FMOLHS in Jackson, MS seeks a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver patient-focused therapy under supervision. You will assist the Physical Therapist in testing, evaluations, and procedures, implement treatment plans, and help design adaptive devices for mobility and function.

Responsibilities include documenting patient progress, supervising rehab staff, and participating in inservice training and ongoing education within Rehab Services at St Dominic Main Campus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
• Experience in related environment preferred.
• Must be PTA licensed in Mississippi.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy treatment as established by the PT to meet goals.
• Assists the PT during patient testing, evaluations and procedures.
• Carries out a treatment program for assigned patients as determined by the PT evaluation.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices such as orthotics and mobility aids.
• Teaches patients and family the skills for participation in therapy.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the supervising PT and updates treatment plans.
• Maintains medical records regarding patient responses to treatment.
• Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides; communicates with physicians.
• Conducts inservice training and participates in educational programs.
