Methodist Rehabilitation Center is looking for a Physical Therapy Assistant to work at the Main Campus in Jackson, Mississippi. Position Type: PRN

Job Shift: Day

Responsibilities

• To provide Physical Therapy services to patients in an Inpatient Rehab setting


• Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing appropriate treatment plans to promote the optimal outcomes for patients with a wide range of injuries and ages.


• Communicates regularly with the Physical Therapist to support the interdisciplinary plan of care, including therapy goals, patient progress, and discharge recommendations.


• Coordinates patient care with an interdisciplinary team that includes but is not limited to: physicians, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, etc.


• Demonstrates the ability to work in a dynamic environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.


• A compassionate professional who encourages and inspires their patients to work toward greater independence and recovery.

Qualifications

• Education: Appropriate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program


• Licensure: Current, valid Physical Therapy Assistant license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Mississippi


• Certification: American Red Cross BLS


• Experience: New graduates welcome to apply; clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehab, or outpatient settings preferred.
