Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree or 60 college hours; or high school diploma with GACE paraprofessional exam.
• Certification: Must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate with in-service training.
• Experience: None.
• Physical Activities: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs; two-person lift for heavier students.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Exhibits professionalism; follows policies and procedures.
• Assists classroom teacher in planning and implementing activities.
• Assists with record keeping and data collection.
• Participates in school activities, field trips and in-service trainings.
• Assists with hall duty and bus loading/unloading as directed.
• Assumes lead role with substitute teacher when needed.
• Assists with toileting, feeding and other delegated medical tasks.
