Job summary

University of the Incarnate Word's Rosenberg School of Optometry invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Professor of Optometry-Open Rank. The role includes classroom and clinical laboratory teaching and possible responsibilities in ocular disease, pediatrics, and/or low vision.

Minimum one year of OD experience, Texas licensure by assignment date or eligibility, and completion of an accredited residency or equivalent.

Qualifications

• OD from an accredited School or College of Optometry.
• Completion of a accredited residency program or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties in UIW Eye Care Clinics.
• Participate in curriculum development and advancement of the program.
• Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.
• Deliver consistent, interactive course lectures aligned with curriculum goals.
• Prepare and administer exams, projects, and assessments.
• Advise and mentor students; provide office hours support.
• Conduct scholarly research and publication; provide service to department and university.
