Job summary

MercyCare in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a full-time Occupational Health Nurse to join MercyCare Prairie Creek. You will perform nursing duties, take vitals, collect medical history and assist providers with procedures.

Responsibilities include occupational health tests, drug screens, spirometry, and accuracy in nursing documentation, with collaboration among employers and case managers. 1–2 years clinical experience and RN license required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of general nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• BSN preferred; Iowa RN license required.
• Current BLS certification and mandatory reporter training.
• Experience in occupational health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vitals, collect medical history and perform EKGs.
• Assist provider with procedures and lab testing up to moderate complexity.
• Conduct occupational health tests (drug screens, breath alcohol, hearing, vision, spirometry).
• Obtain prior authorizations for tests/referrals as needed.
• Complete nursing documentation and visit charges in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with employers, insurers, case managers and staff.
