Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or advanced degree in a bioscience-related field with preferably 1–2 years of related lab experience.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary.
• Successful candidate will be expected to exhibit initiative, work independently; be technically proficient and accurate; effectively communicate in both written reports and presentations; initiate and ensure compliance with safety procedures; and possess attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• The Hearing lab uses behavioral, genetic, neurophysiological, and in vivo neural activity approaches to study changes in brain function that underlie opioid addiction and neuropsychiatric disorders.
• The successful applicant will perform surgical procedures in mice and manage an individual research project.
• This management will include conducting experiments on a regular basis using state of the art technology as well as collecting and assisting in data analysis and manuscript preparation.
• Additional responsibilities will include maintenance of our mouse colony and general lab, and managing undergraduate research assistants as needed.
