Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Research Technician II to support the Kumar lab in studying cortical mechanisms of sound-processing after noise-induced hearing loss.

The role involves assisting with in vivo imaging, optogenetics, and operant behavior mouse models, and managing documentation and materials for experiments. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with strong data handling and lab skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• No specific work experience is required for this position.
• Strong communication and reporting skills are preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and basic data handling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research studies, experiments and data collection.
• Maintain mice colony management.
• Enter data and organize research files.
• Assist with statistical analysis and figure construction.
• Prepare tissue cultures, reagents, and related materials.
