Qualifications

• Licensed, or eligible for licensure as an Academic Teacher in ESL by MA DESE and SEI certification.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Commitment to stay current in content knowledge and teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide English language instruction aligned with DESE ELD benchmarks.
• Manage assessments and testing in accordance with MA state requirements.
• Monitor Opt-Outs and FEL status; complete progress reports and attend meetings.
• Coordinate home language surveys, initial calls, student placement, and parent notification.
• Assess English development using nondiscriminatory language assessment procedures.
• Design and implement educational programs across content areas.
• Differentiate instruction and provide supports to all learners.
• Provide regular progress updates to teachers regarding MLL course content.
• Teach pullout MLL lessons with small groups and individual students.
• Support inclusion in content classes for MLL students as needed.
