Job summary

MSU Federal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage/Home Loan Officer to guide members through the mortgage application process, conduct thorough interviews, and clearly explain loan programs and requirements.

The role supports a hybrid work arrangement in Chicago/Northern Illinois, with on-site days at the branch, and emphasizes compliant, high-quality borrower experience and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; real estate/finance coursework preferred.
• NMLS number required in accordance with regulations.
• Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations.

Responsibilities

• Originates mortgage and home equity applications after conducting thorough interviews with members.
• Communicates status of loans and documents customer communications in processing systems.
• Assists members with mortgage products with guidance from senior officers.
• Maintains networks with Realtors, builders, and financial planners to generate referrals.
• Ensures compliance with internal controls and procedures.
