Job summary

DeKalb Public Health is hiring a Mobile Unit Driver to operate and maintain our Mobile Medical Unit across DeKalb County. The role requires a valid Georgia driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to handle routine inspections, logs, and safety checks.

This on-site position at North Health Center in DeKalb County supports community health events, delivers services, and ensures equipment readiness. Excellent customer service and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of directly related professional driving, transportation, mobile-unit operations, logistics, or closely related experience required.
• Good driving record required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain Georgia Class C driver's license/vehicle operator credential within the required timeframe.
• Must be able to safely operate the Mobile Medical Unit and perform all essential driving and operational duties.
• Must be willing and able to work adjusted schedules, including evenings and weekends, based on community events and program needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates the Mobile Medical Unit throughout DeKalb County and other assigned locations.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after routes and events.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and readiness, and keeps records of mileage and travel.
• Coordinates vehicle maintenance with Internal Services or vendors as directed.
• Provides courteous, professional customer service to participants and staff.
• Supports safe setup and breakdown of the mobile unit at community locations.
