Job summary

Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. seeks a Migrant Education Services Specialist to support migratory students and OSY, helping them complete credits toward graduation.

You will promote the Migrant Education Program and coordinate with state and local agencies to place students appropriately. Responsibilities include data management for state/federal reporting, providing training to LEAs, and organizing supplementary services and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field or 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Three years teaching, coaching, school counseling, or training experience.
• One year experience working effectively with people of different cultures and situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills to effectively perform daily responsibilities; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet.
• Proof of valid driver’s license and current/adequate vehicle insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Implements program and grant requirements and documents compliance and progress toward goals and Measurable Program Outcomes.
• Reviews Needs Assessments and Student Profiles to ensure services are provided in a timely manner and identifies any need for further evaluation and/or intervention.
• Develops and implements training and related materials; provides training and support to LEAs and service locations.
• Ensures input of accurate and timely data for state and federal reporting; manages multiple projects with deadlines.
• Represents the Title I Migrant Education Program in the community and with other agencies; coordinates with interstate and intrastate partners.
