Job summary

Ashuelot Valley Academy in Keene, NH seeks a Middle School Teacher for grades 5–8 in a trauma-informed, relationship-driven setting. NH K–8 certification is REQUIRED; you will work in small classes with strong team support and a year-round program.

The role emphasizes building relationships, delivering project-based instruction, and supporting students with diverse emotional needs while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active NH K–8 Teacher Certification (required).
• Minimum age 21.
• Background in Education preferred (English, Math, Science).
• Experience with youth with emotional/behavioral needs preferred.
• Experience with children/adolescents in school, coaching, or childcare.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, project-based instruction aligned with IEP goals and core curriculum.
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Track and report student progress, grades, and IEP outcomes.
• Collaborate with academic and clinical staff to support student success.
• Implement classroom management and behavioral strategies as needed.
• Supervise and guide Teaching Assistants.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and curriculum development.
• Maintain documentation including lesson plans, reports, and assessments.
