Job summary

Uncommon Schools seeks a passionate Middle School Math teacher to join our NYC area campuses. You will teach foundational math concepts, use an in-house CCSS-based curriculum, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners.

You will also partner with families, participate in weekly coaching, and contribute to a positive school culture. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and NY certification eligibility; 1–2 years in urban teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; NY certification eligibility required.
• 1-2 years of urban K-12 teaching experience preferred.
• Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational middle school math principles such as ratio/proportions, expressions/equations, the number system, and more.
• Use the in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities.
• Meet weekly with principal/ instructional coach to analyze student work trends.
• Build positive relationships with students and families, and engage in weekly school-wide meetings.
