Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Adhere to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards
• Assist administration in implementing rules governing student life; maintain classroom order
• Create a culture of effectiveness by setting high standards and expectations for all students
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
• Create a classroom environment that engages students and enables learning objectives
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear lesson objectives
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs and 504 plans
