Job summary

Richmond Community School District is seeking a Middle School English Language Arts teacher in Richmond, Michigan. The role focuses on coordinating curriculum and instruction for ELA and increasing student knowledge, understanding and skills. Reports to the Superintendent or designee, with duties including assessment, classroom management, and efficient student movement within the school.

Hours are 7:35am-2:45pm. Employment is under REA Contract, with starting date immediate.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified as defined by ESEA/NCLB; previous experience preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma (minimum).
• Teaching Certificate required.
• Associate’s Degree (minimum).
• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum).
• Master’s Degree or higher (minimum).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate curriculum and instruction for the ELA program.
• Maintain and communicate student behavior standards and classroom management.
• Implement a comprehensive assessment system to monitor achievement and guide instruction.
• Supervise students and support staff as needed.
• Operate district technology and equipment to support instruction.
