Qualifications

  • Attend Hyde 101 Training.
  • Previous experience as a school counselor.
  • Experience in an urban school setting.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Master’s degree in Education or relevant content area (preferred).
  • New York State Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Share academic and behavioral data with teachers and administrators.
  • Collaborate with students and families on caseload.
  • Inform families of progress by phone or in person and maintain logs.
  • Organize case notes after each session.
  • Provide direct student support (individual or small groups).
  • Participate in school-wide community sessions.
  • Support in CST process and schedule interventions.
  • Design progress reports for caseloads based on goals.
  • Observe classrooms to provide feedback to teachers and students.
  • Attend all faculty meetings.
