Job summary

Newton Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach for Middle School Boys Soccer at Bigelow Middle School in Newton, Massachusetts. The role starts immediately and carries a stipend with a typical range between $2,115 and $4,157.

The Assistant Coach will develop players, organize practices, and promote sportsmanship while supporting school programs and the community. This exempt, non-aligned position requires a Bachelor’s degree and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Complies with school and MIAA policies and regulations
• Works cooperatively with the school staff
• Relates positively to parents and other community representatives
• Maintains and inventories all equipment and supplies
• Develops and organizes practice program
• Evaluates assistant coaches and playing personnel
• Plans and develops game responsibilities
• Acts as liaison with staff, administration, public and media
• Ensures a safe environment for student athletes
