  • Models positive behaviors, especially with regard to sportsmanship and the alcohol, tobacco and drug rules.
  • Delegates staff assignments to assistant coaches.
  • Develops and organizes practice program.
  • Evaluates assistant coaches and playing personnel.
  • Plans and develops game responsibilities.
  • Conducts and analyzes scouting reports.
  • Assists student athletes in college advancement.
  • Maintains and inventories all equipment and supplies.
  • Acts as liaison person in relating the athletic program to the staff, administration, general public, and local news media.

FLSA Status (Exempt/Non-exempt): Exempt, Non-Aligned

Reports To: Athletic Director, School Principal

SUMMARY

The Assistant Coach will instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the students shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, sportsmanship and service to others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to operate computer, printer, telephone, copier, facsimile machine, and all other standard office equipment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Sufficient mobility to navigate within a large or small school building, practice facilites, weight room, etc
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
