Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher at Tuscarora High School. The teacher will deliver instruction aligned with curriculum, plan daily lessons, and maintain an engaging classroom environment to support student growth.

Responsibilities include diverse teaching strategies, effective evaluation, and collaboration with staff and administration. Position requires a high level of attendance and adherence to FCPS policies.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits required.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferred and encouraged.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide for instructional needs and interests of students with daily lesson planning.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and where time is used effectively.
• Demonstrate use of diverse teaching techniques and instructional resources to implement curriculum.
• Use evaluation to promote student growth and development across intellectual, physical, social and emotional domains.
• Demonstrate fair, firm, and consistent behavior and promote self-discipline.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community.
• Support administration and staff in achieving school goals and following policies.
