Job summary

Bound Brook School District is seeking a teacher with a valid New Jersey instructional certificate and subject matter endorsement or eligibility to meet Highly Qualified Teacher status.

The candidate will develop engaging lesson plans, deliver instruction aligned with state standards, and maintain a positive, productive classroom environment while collaborating with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate and subject matter endorsement or eligibility to meet Highly Qualified Teacher status.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Works to achieve state core curriculum standards and district educational goals by promoting active learning in the classroom using board-adopted curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Sets specific objectives in lesson preparation and weekly plans and presents to achieve these objectives.
• Monitors pupil academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction.
• Maintains records of pupil progress and summarizes these marks for reporting purposes.
• Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff in addressing learning problems.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior conducive to learning.
• Plans class activities and presents that are age-appropriate and meet individual needs.
• Maintains professional competence through inservice education and professional growth.
• Participates in school-level planning, faculty meetings, and committees.
• Makes effective use of community resources to enhance the instructional program.
• Upholds school rules and policies and performs other duties within scope of employment and certification.
