Job summary

Shine Residential is seeking a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in California to ensure medications and dosages follow physicians’ orders and to provide recommendations to reduce prescriptions when appropriate.

You will conduct monthly medication audits, monitor administration and documentation, train staff quarterly on medication handling, and collaborate with the Shine Residential team to support a healthy, independent living environment for clients.

Qualifications

• Valid LVN license in California required.
• Hands-on ostomy care and C-tube management experience.
• Developmental disabilities experience preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of medication administration protocols.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly medication audits ensuring compliance with physicians’ orders and best practices.
• Monitor medication administration, storage, and documentation for safety and accuracy.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to medical teams to reduce over-prescription when appropriate.
• Provide staff training on medication administration, storage, and handling with quarterly refreshers.
• Collaborate with the Shine Residential team to support clients’ health and independence.
• Maintain detailed audit reports with actionable insights and communicate findings to leadership.
