Job summary

St. David’s School is seeking a Lower School Teaching Assistant to support lead teachers in delivering organized and engaging instruction. The role emphasizes collaboration, active engagement, and flexible support across all classroom activities, including whole-group and small-group instruction.

You will help maintain a positive classroom environment, support student learning, and participate in professional development days to strengthen teamwork and instructional effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Take daily attendance as directed by the lead teacher.
• Maintain graded student work files for weekly distribution to families.
• Manage weekly folders and behavior charts as applicable.
• Assist with classroom setup and preparation at the start of the school year.
• Keep supplies stocked and instructional materials prepared.
• Complete clerical tasks including copying, laminating, scanning, faxing, and cutting materials.
• Grade non-subjective assignments as directed by the lead teacher.
• Sanitize desks and high-touch surfaces at the end of the day.
• Stack or arrange chairs at the end of the day.
• Supervise lunch five days per week (excluding PreK).
• Supervise recess as assigned.
• Assist with morning carpool and afternoon carpool as applicable.
• Supervise bathroom breaks and assist during bathroom-related accidents.
• Escort students to enrichment classes safely and orderly.
• Attend all professional development days and sessions.
